Derek Kwong

Derek is in his fourth year of the BBA program, concentrating in finance and pursuing a minor in economics. Derek has been involved with LIFA since his first year, starting as a Junior Executive. He is scheduled to complete a term at BDO Canada in their M&A and Capital Markets group in Winter 2024. Previously, he worked as a Corporate Development Fall Analyst at Teranet, a Venture Capital Fall Analyst at Good News Ventures, and as an Advisory Winter Analyst at Social Venture Connexion (SVX).

As Executive Vice President, Derek is responsible for coordinating the Junior Executive program and managing LIFA’s budget. He grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where he graduated from North Toronto Collegiate Institute. In his spare time, he enjoys producing hip-hop and EDM music, DJing, and going to the gym.
